There are generally two reactions to the idea of a day of ‘play’ for adults. The first is a seaside-postcard kind of snigger, the second is a more enthusiastic ‘ooh, great idea’.

This weekend, there’s an event at Lordship Rec designed to cater to those of you firmly in that second camp.

The Play Days event promises to be a giant throwback to the playgrounds of your youth. It gives you fun-loving types the opportunity to reminisce over old schoolyard games such as rounders and British Bulldog, while connecting with like-minded local people.

Don’t fancy the rough and tumble of those? Then you’ll also find frisbees, skipping ropes, hula-hooping and face painting, as well as colouring-in, playdough and storytelling sessions.

Plus there’ll be live music in the party games room, and refreshments and Blue Peter-style biscuit decorating at the Lordship Rec café all day.

Play Days is at Lordship Hub, Lordship Recreation Ground, off Higham Road, N17 6NU on Sunday 26 June, 11am to 2pm or 3pm to 6pm. For more information visit the Playdays website.
